Aberdeen Jazz Festival

Aberdeen Jazz Festival is one of the city’s top music festivals, bringing world acclaimed jazz artists to Aberdeen each year as part of an exciting and varied programme. The festival also delivers a range of free lunchtime concerts, where young up and coming jazz bands from across the city’s schools have an opportunity to play professional performances as part of the five day programme of jazz events.

Bridge Jazz

It exists to present modern jazz events featuring UK and International touring bands, and original music from Scottish-based jazz ensembles at The Glasgow Art Club and The Jazz Bar, Edinburgh. The gigs are hosted on a weekly basis and include partnerships with Glasgow Jazz Festival and Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival. Bridge Music was created in 2002, and is run by Edinburgh musician and jazz organiser Bill Kyle.

The Isle of Bute Jazz Festival

downloadThe Isle of Bute Jazz Festival began in 1988 and has been staged annually on the first weekend of May ever since – this year’s event will be the 28th Edition. The festival has 40 plus events taking place from concerts to jam sessions. Some very well known names featured on the programme over the years – Tommy Smith, Carol Kidd, The Temperance 7 amongst others. The Festival continues to attract top UK and International Artists.

Dundee International Jazz Festival

International jazz names rub shoulders with Dundonian talent in a programme that covers many styles of jazz, including blues, soul, funk, big band and Latin. It is going into its 34th Edition.

Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival

ejf_logoComprising over 100 concerts in ten days, in Edinburgh’s parks, churches, clubs and concert halls, the Edinburgh International Jazz Festival features all styles from early to avant-garde, and several world premieres, new bands, and new collaborations.

Fife Jazz Festival

With a full and diverse programme of performances that include Scottish and international jazz musicians, alongside superb bands, the Fife Jazz Festival is a staple of the winter music calendar drawing audiences from far and wide.

Glasgow International Jazz Festival

The GIJF aims to provide something for everyone with a rich and varied programme, featuring world music, blues and hip-hop crossovers. The Late Night Jam Sessions are also a well-established regular, and though the venue has changed over the years, the excitement of seeing top names jamming into the early hours hasn’t!

Jazz at Hospitalfield

Lockerbie Jazz Festival

The Lockerbie Jazz Festival  is only seven years old and takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Lockerbie in the Scottish Lowlands, a region which boasts stunning natural beauty, a rich heritage of arts and crafts including the yearly Jazz Festival, beautiful golf courses and lots more.

Shetland Jazz Festival

The Shetland Jazz festival was set up to promote a high quality programme of jazz in Shetland with a major festival at the core and to develop projects which bring together local musicians with visiting artists. The festival promotes local and international artists in venues across the island.
